Hoda Kotb is one of America’s most respected journalists, authors, and media personalities. She is best known as the former co-anchor of NBC News’ TODAY and co-host of TODAY with Hoda & Jenna, a role she held for 17 years after joining the program in 2008. Kotb is also the host of the widely followed podcast Making Space with Hoda Kotb and the founder of Joy 101, a new wellness-focused community and platform.
Kotb joined NBC News in 1998 as a correspondent for Dateline NBC, reporting on a broad range of domestic and international stories. Her coverage has included the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina—a story with personal significance, as she lived in New Orleans for six years—as well as reporting from Iraq, Afghanistan, and the West Bank and Gaza. She has also been part of NBC News’ coverage of eight Olympic Games, from Beijing in 2008 through Paris in 2024.
A New York Times bestselling author, Kotb has written nine books, including Hoda: How I Survived War Zones, Bad Hair, Cancer and Kathie Lee, You Are My Happy, I Really Needed This Today, and Hope Is a Rainbow. Her most recent book, Jump and Find Joy, was released in September 2025.
Kotb has received numerous honors for her work, including multiple Daytime Emmy Awards, a Peabody Award, a Gracie Award, the Alfred I. duPont–Columbia University Award, and induction into the Broadcasting & Cable Hall of Fame. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in broadcast journalism from Virginia Tech and lives in the New York City suburbs with her two daughters.
