Wendy Short Bartie, executive vice president, Corporate Affairs, is responsible for advancing company strategy through strategic communications, corporate social responsibility, corporate marketing, brand reputation and patient advocacy. Wendy oversees the Bristol Myers Squibb Foundation, an independent organization that works to advance the health of underserved populations globally. Wendy also serves as the Executive Sponsor of the Bristol Myers Squibb People and Business Resource Group, PRIDE Alliance. Wendy brings a blend of business acumen and purpose-driven leadership to her role. With a degree in communications and a career that began as a public defender in Washington, D.C., she built her industry experience as a marketer and most recently led Bristol Myers Squibb’s oncology portfolio, where she was responsible for delivering cutting-edge cancer-fighting therapies to patients around the world. She previously served as the SVP and General Manager of multiple divisions within Bristol Myers Squibb, and also served as Chief of Staff to former CEO, Giovanni Caforio. In 2024, Wendy was honored with the OneWe Reach Illuminator Award and was named one of Savoy Magazine’s Most Influential Executives in Corporate America. She has also been recognized by Healthcare Businesswomen’s Association (HBA) as a Luminary and Rising Star. Wendy received her Bachelor of Arts from Clark Atlanta University and her Juris Doctor from Loyola University Chicago, School of Law.
