Debbie Hiott

DEBBIE HIOTT is editor of the Austin American-Statesman, overseeing content for the daily newspaper, its affiliated websites and its weekly community publications. She started at the Statesman as a reporting intern in 1990 and later covered city hall and transportation as a reporter and oversaw local and state coverage. She became editor of the paper in November 2011. Hiott has served as a Pulitzer Prize jury member and is on the board of directors of the Freedom of Information Foundation of Texas and the Texas Associated Press Managing Editors. She is a 1992 graduate of Southwest Texas State University.  @dhiott @statesman
