Managing Up, Down, and Across: Succeeding in a Complex Workplace

Celia Gianetti is Director of Talent Management, Culture and Belonging at Mitsubishi Chemical Group Americas, where she leads regional talent strategy, leadership development, succession, organizational effectiveness, and culture. Throughout her career, Celia has built functions and teams at DuPont, Boston Scientific, and Mitsubishi Chemical Group Americas. She is known for translating challenges into strategies that leaders can understand, adopt, and use.Celia’s path into human resources began in logistics and commercial operations, giving her an operational perspective for a talent executive. That experience taught her how decisions are made, how organizations move, and how to influence stakeholders without relying on formal authority.Today, she brings that commercial lens to leadership, culture, organizational design, and transformation. Holding a degree in business, a master’s in organizational psychology, and Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification, Celia combines insight with operational discipline. Her approach to managing upward is direct and pragmatic: understand what matters to the business, anticipate what leaders need, earn credibility through results, and know when to advocate, challenge, or step back. Originally from Brazil, Celia brings a global perspective and a candid, engaging style to her work. She is a trusted advisor to senior leaders navigating growth, change, and complexity, and a passionate advocate for women building influence, confidence, and impact.
