Roman Blanco

Roman Blanco is president and chief executive officer of Santander US. In this role, he leads all of the Santander Group’s businesses in the United States. He joined Santander in 2004 as director of business development for the America’s division. The same year he was named vice president of Banco Santander Banespa in Brazil. In 2007, he was appointed country head for Santander in Colombia. Before being appointed to his current role in July 2013, Blanco led Santander Bancorp of Puerto Rico. Prior to joining Santander, he worked for 13 years with consulting firm McKinsey & Company, where he was a senior partner responsible for multiple client engagements and projects within the financial services sector. Blanco earned a B.S. in civil engineering from the University of Cantabria in Spain, and an M.B.A. from Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. @santanderbankus
